The European Library

In 2011 the ISPE College has merged its library with Kosovo’s European Library and in this case the latter has moved to the building of the ISPE College. The European Library was founded in 2007 as a project of the European Initiative in cooperation with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Pristina and the National and University Library of Kosovo. Much of the stock of books in the library is in foreign languages, mainly in English and German. This fund consists of books dealing with Europe, political developments in Europe, but also with the geography and the history of Europe. The European Library has a fund of about 3000 printed books.

The European Library in cooperation with the European Commission Liaison Office in Kosovo, and maintains publications summary of all the European Union institutions in English language. The European Library also cooperates with the Goethe-Institute Belgrade, which is a German Government Institute to support the German literature and language worldwide. This cooperation is realized through a donation of 115 books that are in German, which have to do with the language, history, politics and geography of Germany.

In addition, the European Library has started the cooperation with the Kosovo Law Centre in order to be supplied with the publications of the center, but also with books and magazines from the library of the center which includes publications in the field of justice and summary of publications from European courts on cases which are handled by these courts. The European Library goal is to further expand the cooperation with other educational institutions to include a greater number of potential readers. This also includes cooperation with other libraries in order to exchange mutual experiences, to exchange ideas and also to enrich the stock of books in accordance with the requirements necessary literature courses offered by ISPE College.
